Registration & Matriculation Process
Some of our vans are already pre‑registered and ready to drive away. However, due to high demand, most vehicles will require the French registration and matriculation process. Below is a simple overview of how it works.
The full Carte Grise and final matriculation can take up to 6 weeks, but there’s no need to worry. In most cases, you can be on the road within two weeks of viewing, using a Provisoire immatriculation. Our agents handle the entire application and certification process for you.
How the Process Works
1. Book a viewing
Contact our agent to arrange an on‑site viewing and test drive.
During your visit, all paperwork will be reviewed so you can approve the van with confidence.
2. Secure your reservation
If you wish to proceed, you may place a fully refundable nominal booking deposit, which holds the van for 72 hours to allow for banking delays.
If you want to begin the registration process immediately, a €3,000 full deposit is required.
We recommend requesting a copy of the sales contract, which clearly outlines all purchase conditions.
3. Registration begins
Once the 72‑hour reservation period has passed and the €3,000 deposit is received, we initiate the registration process. Please note: the €3,000 deposit becomes non‑refundable once registration has started, as it triggers the official Carte Grise application.
To expedite the process, VanDe requires:
- Proof of address (less than 3 months old)
- A copy of your passport
Allow around 2 weeks for the Provisoire immatriculation and plate fitting so you can drive away.
This timeframe also gives you the opportunity to notify your bank in advance for the SEPA transfer.
4. Final Carte Grise
Your permanent Carte Grise typically arrives within around 4 weeks.
The application includes live tracking so you can monitor progress at any time.
5. Final payment & handover
On the day of handover, we require proof of full payment via SEPA bank transfer to VanDe Ltd.
Alternative payment methods may be accepted if pre‑approved.
